Once you are at the Luxor, near McCarran International Airport, you are going to be at the bottom of the South Las Vegas area.
Here are some locations that you should visit, and the best walking routes for you to consider, if you would like to do this tour on foot. Also see our article on N. Las Vegas attractions like the Southern Nevada Museum of Find Art.
S. Las Vegas Blvd.
This is the main road that you will walk up and down as you are looking at the casinos on the Las Vegas strip. It is one of the most highly trafficked streets, not only in Vegas, likely throughout all of Nevada. Probably the best place to begin would be at the Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas Sign, the one that has been featured in so many different movies.
Heading north from there, you will go directly by Mandalay Bay, the Luxor, the Excalibur hotel, and finally to the MGM Grand. Once you have reached the Sahara at Las Vegas, you will have come to the top of the South Las Vegas region.
Sammy Davis Jr Drive
Running parallel to the Las Vegas strip is Sammy Davis Jr Drive. This will take you past many locations that you may want to visit including restaurants that you will see along the way. You will also be able to see the Resorts World Las Vegas building, the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, taking you up past the Gateway district.
However, it is recommended that you turn right if you are heading north, prior to getting too close to the main freeway, by going on W. Wyoming Ave.
South Koval Lane
This street begins at the base of the 593 Highway which runs east to west. You will be directly behind the MGM Grand, which will be off to your left. As you head north, you will see several businesses including the Club Wyndham Grand Desert, the Tuscany Suites and Casinos, and it will come to an end when you reach Sands Avenue at the MSG Sphere Las Vegas. If you go to the left, on your left will be the Venetian.
On your right, you will be walking adjacent the enormous Wynn Las Vegas. This will take you back to the Strip, allowing you to get to the hotel that you are staying at while you are in Vegas.
Regardless of which direction you decide to go in, whether you are traveling north or south, this southern area of Las Vegas and Summerlin contains most of the most highly trafficked and frequented casinos. There are also many other businesses that you can find. Some of them will not be seen unless you take the streets that are adjacent to the Las Vegas strip. This will allow you to see areas of Las Vegas or even Paradise, NV just south that are well lit, perfectly safe, and will help you find new attractions that you can see why you are visiting.
