Summerlin South Park for Walking

Summerlin is known for being full of beautiful and well-designed parks that offer great playgrounds, shaded shelter, picnic areas, and walking paths that are appealing for families. The focus on being park-heavy and planning the neighborhoods around beautiful natural places to play and socialize have helped make Summerlin one of the most desired areas in Vegas.

Despite having dozens of amazing parks, there are four in particular that stand out in Summerlin South Las Vegas.

1. Summerlin Centre Community Park

The first is Summerlin Centre Community Park. This park has a bit of everything and is perfect for those who want to spend an entire day enjoying the outdoors. There is a huge playground with lots of different activities for kids, a fully stocked fishing pond, lighted tennis and basketball courts, and even an amphitheater for events and performances.

There are also many different walking paths that wind through the park, making it a great place to take a leisurely stroll or go for a run, and multiple playground areas are build with shade over the top, making it safer and cooler for children to play while enjoying outdoor time in the summer.

2. Spotted Leaf Park

The second park on our list is Spotted Leaf Park. This park is slightly smaller than Summerlin Centre Community Park but still has plenty to offer. Spotted Leaf Park is a great place to take the kids, with a playground, pavilions, and a small spray-ground to cool off in on hot days. The park also has a walking path, making it perfect for a morning walk or jog for the early risers who are living in the neighborhood.

3. Gardens Park

The third park on our list is Gardens Park. This park is known for its stunning gardens, which are maintained by the Southern Nevada Water Authority. The gardens are open to the public and are a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Carefully tended gardens of flowers and ornamental grasses along with tree-lined paths make this park a favorite among locals.

The nighttime lighting is also outstanding, keeping the park extremely well lit and helping to ensure the safety of people who prefer to be out and about once the sun goes down and the temperatures start dropping.

4. Willows Park

The fourth and final park on our list is Willows Park. This park is perfect for those who want to enjoy a quiet day in nature. The park has a small playground, a pavilion, and a walking path. It also has a beautiful pond, which definitely adds to the ambiance of the park itself. There are multiple walking and running trails, which are very well lit at night and the large number of trees and smart design make this a popular park for runners and for dog owners.

These are just four of the many amazing parks that can be found in Summerlin South Las Vegas. These parks show just how much dedication and planning went to making sure that these neighborhoods were built around public spaces that they could be proud of. At The Robotic Spine Institute of Las Vegas we always recommend walking as a low impact form of exercise and there’s no better place to walk in the greater Las Vegas, NV area than the parks.
