A Transforaminal interbody Fusion is a procedure where a surgeon performs a posterior discectomy and decompression to provide relief for the nerve roots and the spinal cord. To replace the natural disc that has been removed, a surgeon will place an inter body device and pedicle screws in order to stabilize the two segments in order for fusion to take place.
