Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion is a minimally invasive procedure where a surgeon performs an anterior cervical discectomy to decompress the nerve roots and the spinal cord. Following the discectomy, a surgeon will place an inter body graft that replaces the natural disc. In addition the surgeon will place a plate and screws to stabilize the segment until fusion occurs between the two vertebrae.
